H&N Baracuda 18 5.5mm (.22) – Compact match-grade precision for demanding shooters
Looking for a German-made, hard-hitting and extremely accurate pellet in 5.5mm (.22)? H&N Baracuda 18 is a match-grade pellet with an optimally balanced weight of 18.13gr (1.175g). This pellet fills the well-known gap between Baracuda Match and Field Target Trophy, making it a superior and consistent all-round choice for all medium- to high-powered airguns.
Tip from the store: Baracuda 18 hits the perfect 'sweet spot' weight for .22 caliber. It delivers a significantly flatter trajectory and higher velocity than heavier hunting pellets, while retaining far more energy and wind stability at a distance of 50 meters than lighter standard pellets.
German tolerances, maximum wind stability and pure quality
H&N Baracuda 18 is supplied in the precise head diameter of 5.52mm, ensuring a perfect fit and optimal rotation in the rifling across most airgun barrels. The aerodynamic domed design provides a ballistic coefficient (BC) of 0.029, minimizing wind drift and guaranteeing tight groupings on the target. The pellets are precision-cleaned and maintain extremely strict weight tolerances, so every shot performs identically.
For the best possible results and consistent muzzle velocity, we recommend firing the pellet with an airgun or PCP rifle that delivers a minimum muzzle energy of 12 ft.lbs (16.3 joules).
Don’t forget the necessary accessories and bundles!
For an uninterrupted shooting session and optimal maintenance of your firearm, we recommend the following:
- Bulk purchase: Ammunition goes quickly when your groupings are this tight.Buy multiple tins at the same time to ensure you get pellets from exactly the same production batch!
- Barrel maintenance: To maintain top accuracy, lead residue should be removed regularly with a cleaning rod or bore snake in 5.5mm caliber.
- Protection: Lubricate the barrel and mechanisms with Ballistol multipurpose oil to prevent leading and corrosion. Always wear approved shooting glasses while shooting.
