Avoid completely emptying the magazine: If the magazine runs out while shooting, it can increase wear on the gears.
Use quality bullets (BBs): Avoid cheap or poor quality BBs that can jam or damage the barrel.
Clean the barrel regularly: Use a clean cleaning stick to keep the barrel clean of dirt and debris.
