Large knife guide - different knife blades and areas of use

Here you will find Game-On's selected knife types.

We have many different knives here at Game-On! Everything from folding knives, training knives, work knives, hunting knives to collectibles! The knives have origins all the way from Japan in the South to the Sami in the North. They have been used for agriculture and some for combat and war! As is often the case today, we use them for hunting, when we are on trip or for general everyday use. There are a lot of different blade types and uses. In this guide we will go through the different ones we sell here at Game-On!

Normal Straight

A good knife for everyday use! The blade has one side that is completely flat and not sharp. While the other side has an edge that curves up towards the tip. It is therefore perfect for cutting, chopping and poking as you can press with the palm of your hand on one side.

Drop Point

One of the most common knife blades that is just as good for hunting as it is for everyday use! The knife has a powerful tip with a long cutting surface that makes it good for opening things and cutting with!

Clip Point

Great for fishing and hunting! The Clip Point blade has a long cutting surface and pointed tip that provides good precision!

Bowie

Is a very good hunting and hiking knife! It has a characteristic design and is very sturdy! It may resemble the Clip Point in design, but the Bowie is a bit more extreme in many ways!

American Tanto

The American Tanto blade is inspired by the Japanese sword and has a solid blade with an extra blade at the tip. Which makes it ideal for cutting both hard and delicate materials.

Hawksbill

Stylish and special knife that is made to imitate a tiger claw! It was originally used to split and tear up the earth and to pick rice in Asia! A great tool for carving or cutting with and a stylish knife for your collection!

Dagger

Dangerous little weapon with a sharp point and two sharp ends. Used by Bilbo in The Lord of the Rings and was originally used in battle as a deadly weapon. We at Game-On therefore do not have real weapons, but some tough foam/rubber props!

Various

Otherwise, we have some other types of knives that may have completely different uses, such as razors, fillet knives and axes. Take a look at the selection below!

Knife accessories

After a while, the knives become dull and it is therefore important to have a good sharpening stone! From time to time it can be good to oil them and to protect them from rust.
